Easy application- I had great grades and high ACT score.

If you choose to go be extremely conservative in all you do. Read all campus rules very well and don't stray.

With a little coxing, a monkey could be accepted. Just pry about it, ask questions, and be sure you know what you are getting into!

I was a hospital volunteer in high school which made me know for sure I wanted to be a nurse before starting college. If I had not had been so determined to complete training for the lifework which I knew I was meant to do, I never would have finished the program. I was under extreme amount of stress to pass clinicals even though my GPA ended up being so low I cannot be accepted into grad wchool now and was placed into 2 charge nurse positions only 6 & 9 months after graduation (at a large hospital). So I do feel well-prepared. That being said, nurses have a bad reputation of "killing their own young"--a sad reality you will hear at many nursing conferences. At least one instructor I know who was very inconsistent in helping some low-quality students along (who failed their state boards in '93) yet did everything to eliminate very kind and high quality nurses from their program in an effort to limit class size, is no longer at PCC. Also, I think the college has a better enrollment process for the nursing program now which prevents the instructors from having to axe out a large number of capable students after they've already spent time/money in the program. The program has 3 years of clinical--more than most BSN programs offer which is great. They provided transportation for all the students to/from clinical (not having a car at school helped me to be able to finish college debt-free).
